Worked with a sophisticated high vacuum system to generate high-order harmonics using ultra short laser pulses from ionized plasma using different samples including bulk, nanoparticles and quantum dots of different materials. Acquired hands-on experience of Z-Scan, ablation by using high power nanosecond and femtosecond laser, pump probe spectroscopy, processing of nano surface structure by single, double, triple laser beams.  

Attended the training sessions for Raman Spectroscopy, UV-VIS-NIR Spectrometer, UV-NIR Fluorescence Spectrometer, Scanning Electron Microscope, Confocal Microscope, and Drop Shape Analyzer.

10th Asian Symposium on Intense Laser Science (ASILS10) March 10 – March 13, 2018

The Department of Physics at American University of Sharjah (AUS) hosted the 10th Asian Symposium on Intense Laser Science (ASILS10). The Asian Symposium on Intense Laser Science (ASILS) is a conference series established to encourage collaborations on intense laser science and applications within the framework of the Asian Intense Laser Network (AILN) and beyond. The first conference in the series (ASILS1) was held in Tokyo, Japan in 2004, followed by the kick-off committee meeting for the AILN establishment. From the second ASILS (ASILS2), held in Kochi, India in 2006, the AILN has been in charge of running the ASILS symposium series. ASILS3 was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2007; ASILS4 in Gwangju, Korea in 2008; ASILS5 in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2009;  ASILS6 in Beijing, China in 2010; ASILS7 in Tokyo, Japan in 2012; ASIL8 in Taipei, Taiwan; and ASIL9  in Ninh Binh City, Vietnam.

The conference program included invited talks by renowned scientists and contributed presentations on issues of recent interest in the field of intense laser science and applications, such as the technology of high power lasers, generation and applications of THz radiation, photonics, optics and spectroscopyfemto-chemistry and femto-biology, and others.

In partnership with the Emirates Mars Mission and Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC), the Department of Physics at American University of Sharjah (AUS) hosted an international conference on Frontiers in Theoretical and Applied Physics | UAE 2017 (FTAPS 2017). The aim of the conference was to provide a forum for physicists, astronomers, and space and material scientists from around the world to present the latest developments in the various dynamic fields of physics. The conference was endorsed by the American Physical Society (APS) and the Institute of Physics (IOP) in the UK.  

International Conference on the Use of X-ray (and related) Techniques in Arts and Cultural Heritage (XTACH11)

XTACH 2011, an international conference on the use of Xray (and related) techniques in arts and cultural heritage was held on 7th8th December 2011 at the American University of Sharjah and was followed by a hands-on training workshop at the NXFL University of Sharjah. The conference was organized in cooperation with the National Xray Fluorescence Laboratory (NXFL) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

NANO-07, an international conference on Nanotechnology and it’s Applications was held on April 10 – April12, 2007 at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Among the topics discussed were nanoscience and nanotechnology including synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials, environmental applications, computational, theory, and simulation of nanostructures.

I have been every year attending this exhibition and conference since 2007. Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions is a leading education show in the Middle East on educational equipment and instructional supplies. Companies display their latest physics lab equipment and class-room instructional supplies from all over the world in this exhibition.

Global Education Forum 2015, Dubai

The Global Education & Skills Forum is a conference that runs parallel to GESS with the theme “innovation in education through creativity and knowledge sharing”. It consists of seminars, hand-on exhibitor workshops and keynote presentations to address the issues in the in education middle east and globally by international experts offering exiting, practical  and innovative teaching methods to use in the classrooms. I have been attending this forum since 2011.
