Archiving Policy
The Journal of Fundamental and Applied Research is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, availability, and accessibility of all scholarly articles it publishes. To safeguard the integrity of the scholarly record and guarantee continued access for researchers and readers worldwide, the journal employs multiple archiving strategies and participates in established digital preservation initiatives.
1. PKP PN Archiving Service
The journal participates in the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) Preservation Network (PN) Archiving Service, which securely stores and maintains digital copies of all published articles in a decentralized network. This ensures that articles remain available for future generations, even in the event of local system failures or technical disruptions. The service provides a reliable and scalable solution for long-term digital preservation of the journal’s content.
2. LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) Initiative
The journal follows the principles of the LOCKSS initiative, which preserves content through distributed archiving. By maintaining multiple copies of articles across geographically and administratively distinct locations, the journal ensures redundancy and resilience in its archival system. This approach minimizes the risk of data loss and guarantees the continuity of access to all publications.
3. PKP PN Archiving Plugin
To facilitate the archiving process, the journal uses the PKP PN Archiving Plugin, a free tool developed by the Public Knowledge Project. This plugin automatically deposits published articles into the PKP PN Archiving Service, streamlining the preservation workflow and contributing to the widespread dissemination of the journal’s content while ensuring long-term digital preservation.
4. Compliance and Policy Review
The Uzbek Scientific Journal of Internal Diseases regularly reviews its archiving policies and practices to ensure they:
-
Align with current digital preservation standards
-
Maintain the security and accessibility of archived content
-
Adapt to evolving best practices in scholarly publishing
The journal remains committed to exploring new archiving solutions and technologies to enhance the durability, reliability, and accessibility of its publications.
